• Hi to all, I’m wondering if anyone can give me a workaround to use the “Press It” tool in WordPress.

This tool is fantastic and works beautifully on one of my websites, but I’ve tried to use it on two other websites and I get a 500 Error message (for Hostgator).

I’ve checked with Hostgator and they looked for a solution. In the end they told me it’s a developer issue.

Hoping someone has a solution for this. Really want to get this to work.

    Thanks in advance. Cheers.

PS: You won’t be able to access the site as it’s under maintenance and not available to the public yet.

Hi Andrew thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately, that didn’t help.

Pasting the ‘Press This’ tool straight into the toolbar didn’t work, so I right-clicked on the tool, got the code and pasted that into the URL. That doesn’t work either.

The error message from Hostgator comes up with a .htaccess issue so I’m inclined to think it must be something to do with Hostgator permissions, even though they don’t seem to think so.

But, it looks like I’ve come up against a brick wall, as Hostgator doesn’t seem to want to look into it any further.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Andrew, quick update.

Surprise, surprise, I’ve fixed the problem – I hope!

It seems to be working fine.

I copied the code from the ‘Press This’ tool that is working for my other website and pasted that into the one I’ve been having problems with, changed the domain name … and it works!

    Fingers crossed.

Thanks for your interest and help.

    Cheers
