presenting blog posts as short intros that can be expanded

NO doubt there is an easy way to do this, but I can’t find it. Instead of having my entire posts show, I want to have only a short opener for each that a reader can choose to click on if they want to expand the post and see it all.
How do I do this, please?
Running default 1.6 Kubrick theme.
