Great plugin! Just need help with a couple things. First, I’d like to change the format of the author name. Right now it is showing the email/username instead of the display name. How can I change to the display name?
Second, the footer color seems to be stuck on the default red color. I have changed it many times but it will always show red. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi peaktan,
Thank you.
1) Currently, the author name can’t be changed BUT we have it in the pipeline and this option will be added in our next release, in a day or two.
2) We’ve noticed this bug and have fixed it, it will also be pushed in the next release. We’ll update you once the next update is released.
Thanks
Looking forward to it! And just some additional suggestions.
Ability to edit menu bar in sidebar.
Ability to modify social networks in sidebar.
GDPR does not work. Assuming a fix is in the next release.
Only one theme is available even though documentation says two are available.Had to deactivate the plugin until the AMP pages do not display email addresses for the author name but looking forward to turning it back on. Thanks again for a really nice plugin!
Hi peaktan,
Thanks for this
Ability to edit menu bar in sidebar. Ability to modify social networks in sidebar.
Can you kindly specify what you mean by editing the menu bar and social networks? If you’re referring to the links, they can be modified.
Only one theme is available even though documentation says two are available.
Can you kindly share the link to this? Although, we have a couple of themes that are under development that will be released soon.
GDPR does not work. Assuming a fix is in the next release.
To our knowledge, GDPR does work. Are you testing from a European IP? This shows up for Europe only.
Thanks
Sidebar: would like to add/modify links to other pages/categories/tags in menu dropdown. would like to add other networks like instagram, youtube, rss, etc.
Themes: i may have misread this or gotten confused. but since i deactivated it i can’t take a look around to look for any references.
GDPR: ah, makes sense. every time i try to edit the gdpr settings and then save, the gdpr setting automatically gets turned off. while we are based in the us, we do have many viewers in the eu that would feel better if we had a more formal gdpr warning.
Excited for the next release, you have the best AMP plugin I’ve seen so far!
Hi @peaktan,
We’ve given the support for changing the format of the author name in our latest release. Please update to the latest version. After the update, it will automatically detect your default settings for WordPress author display name.
Sidebar – You can assign a WordPress menu to the AMP WP Sidebar and add any links in them. For social network icons, we’ll add more icons support in the near future.
Themes – No worries. Let us know if you find it again.
GDPR – the GDPR notice bar is for EU users only and will show to them automatically, provided you have turned them on from your settings panel in AMP WP settings.
Thank you for your valuable feedback. We’re trying our best to support as many features as we can.
Thanks
Live with your plugin! Looks great!
Couple things for your next release.
Sidebar menu only supports 3 levels deep. My third tier (top level, first tier, second tier, third tier) ends up displaying inline with the second tier item and not nested.
Image spacing on some of my pages is not correct, there are no spaces between some images. Likely a CSS issue when there are multiple columns in a page that hold images in the columns or images in different page sections.
Would like to add a bit more text to the cookie notification. Right now it’s pretty limited.
Still cannot get the GDPR settings to work. I may be doing something wrong but every time I save the settings it just closes and deselects the GDPR option. Would like to enable this and direct users to the privacy page.
Once again, great plugin! One of the best integrations into the local theme and ease of setup. Just a few more options would be great but overall a great addition to any site.
Hi @peaktan,
Thanks for using our plugin.
Re: Sidebar & Cookie Notice length – We’ve noted your suggestions and have added in our sprint for future releases.
Re: GDPR settings and Image spacing – Can you kindly share your WordPress credentials so we can take a look at this?
We’ve also released a new update v1.2.0, please update to the latest version and see if that resolves your issues. Please read the note below before updating your plugin:
Important note about updating to v1.2.0:
We’ve made some major structural changes to the settings of the plugin. Pages & Post settings have been moved from the AMP WP Theme Customizer to AMP WP > Settings page. We’ve provided backward compatibility for most of the options except for a few cases (mentioned below) where we couldn’t provide it:- Post Settings > Enable Thumbnail
- Post Settings > Enable Comments
- Post Settings > Enable Related Posts
- Page Settings > Enable AMP on Home Page
- Page Settings > Enable Slider on Home Page
- Page Settings > Enable AMP on Search Page
Once you update the plugin to v1.2.0, please ensure you update these settings manually. Please see the attached screenshots:
If you face any issues after the update, please open a ticket here or email us at [email protected] and we’ll fix it asap.

Updated to v1.2.0 and it makes sense to move most of those settings into the settings location instead of the theme editor.
Having a couple issues. One, I can’t seem to actually view the amp pages – either manually or automatic redirection. If I type https://url/amp it simply gets redirected to https://url. And the auto amp redirect in the settings is enabled but not functional either. I’ve been troubleshooting by deactivating other plugins but no luck yet.
Second, the cookie notification does work but as soon as I edit another setting and save it seems to reset the cookie notification to default off. Then I have to edit the cookie notifications again. As long as it’s the last thing edited the settings stay, but as soon as something else is edited and the settings are saved then the cookie settings get reset.
Unfortunately since the amp pages are not working I may need to move to another plugin so Google doesn’t think these are broken forever. Any ideas on the amp pages not working? As always, thanks for your help!
Hi @peaktan,
Thanks.
Sorry to hear you’re having these issues. We have tested on our end and unable to reproduce the issues you mentioned.
Can you please email us your WordPress admin dashboard credentials and we’ll set up the plugin and sort out these issues.
Thanks,
