Presentation page not showing up, among other issues

Recently I tried adding a page to show products from wp ecommerce. When I pressed “save draft” on that page, the website timed out and gave me an error, then all of a sudden my whole website changed. The presentation page no longer shows up at all, and instead the “posts page” with sidebar widgets shows up in its place, however this page doesn’t work like it should either- the titles do not link to the posts. And now there is no “next page” option at the bottom when I click a category with a lot of posts, meaning after 10 posts the rest are unreachable except for by search.

I’ve tried disabling and re-enabling the presentation page as well as plugins. I’ve tried switching to a new theme and back again. I’ve tried trashing the page I was working on when the issue occurred. So far nothing has worked.

As a work around I created a static page under the blog template to serve as the home page temporarily, and the post information like title links do work there, as well as the “next page button” but no where else. Any changes I make to parabola settings affect the page that I created after the error, but it has no effect on the other pages/categories/tags.
