Prepend text to buttons

  • Hi,

    Is there a way of adding text before the share buttons? Instead of just the buttons I’d like to have the text “Share on: ” before them.

    I know I can add the buttons manually to pages and posts using a shortcode after my own text but that doesn’t work on product pages in WooCommerce.

    I guess I could add it in CSS using :before but that feels a little “hacky”.

    Hi @hljcreative,

    No official response no, and using :before didn’t work, but I have a workaround.

    Go to “Share Buttons” in the “Add This” menu. Add a new button and choose type “Custom HTML”. Call it whatever you like and in the “Custom HTML” box type the text you’d like to prepend. Set it to appear in the same positions as you have the buttons set to appear, save it and ensure it is active.

    Whatever you put in that box will appear before your buttons.

    You can create different ones of these and select different places (so you can have different text on the archive pages to your post pages, or different text top and bottom of a post, just make sure you choose the correct places in “postitions”.
