    I’m developing a plugin and I want to sell it. I mean I don’t want to it be free. Is there any code example to help me add a lock on that ? So for example it will only works with a issued license or anything else that can help me to Change it to only works for the people who have been paid for that ?

    Thank you Tim, but my plugin is not commercial yet and I think my question is related to this forum then if you think it’s a wrong place can you suggest me a forum link so I can ask my question there ?

    Locking code is directly contrary to the open source concept that we support here. But I will add that since your plugin has to be interpreted by the site owner’s server, anything you do to lock you code can be undone by a competent coder. The best you can do is make it so difficult that it’s easier to pay you than to fuss with whatever you’ve done to obfuscate your code.

    Weigh that against many people will rightfully be skeptical of obfuscated code and will shy away. Third party vendors may have restrictions on such practice for similar reasons.
