    Hello.

I have this video gallery and I noticed that Google Analytics cannot count when someone watches the videos. The videos open in a lightbox.

I would like to know if there is any way to make Google Analytics to count the clicks on each of the videos.

    Many thanks!

    Hi @lukmunhoz

    Hope you’re having a great day ??

Well, Premium Media Grid widget lightbox actually uses Elementor API to add a lightbox into the page, so actually the code for the lightbox is loaded from Elementor plugin itself. So, I recommend contacting their support so they can check from their end and let us know if there’s some sort of workaround we can use to link between Elementor lightbox and Google Analytics.

Hope you got the point, please let me know if you still have any further questions.

    Regards

    Hi.

    Thanks for your reply.

Actually, I have already asked them about it, and that is what they said:

“Upon inspecting your website, I can see you are using a widget called Premium Image Gallery which is coming from a third-party addon for Elementor.

Please note we can’t provide support in relation to third-party plugins given that we do not have any control over their features. I would suggest you get in touch with the plugin authors and see if they can provide a solution on their end.”

    What should I do? ??

    Cheers

    Hi @lukmunhoz

    Hope you’re having a great day ??

May I ask have you tried to disable lightbox option and see if Google Analytics will be able to count the clicks on the grid items ?

    Hi.

I disabled the lightbox and Google Analytics were still not able to count the clicks.

The videos are Vimeo videos, just so you know, if it helps somehow.

    Many thanks,

    Hi Luciano,

    Hope you’re having a great day ??

Well, I believe this can be done using Google Analytics Event Tracking, but you will may to add a couple of custom JS lines into your website to link analytics with Premium Media Grid.

Here’s an article showing up how you can setup Google Analytics Event Tracking. Also, I recommend having a look on this article created by Elementor on How to Install Google Analytics on a WordPress site.

    Regards
