Pre-Sales: Moving Multisite

  • Is it possible for Duplicator Pro to copy a live multisite installation to a local dev site? My customer’s multisite network has 25 sites all set up as subdomains. For example, the main site is at “mygreatsites.com” (not the real domain) and the other sites are at site1.mygreatsites.com, site2.mygreatsites.com, and so on. I can’t quite wrap my head around how this will work with localhost on XAMPP.

    I’ve tried to do this on my own using your very generous instructions (here) but unfortunately I’m having no luck. I just keep ending up with the infamous “Error establishing a database connection.” However, I can connect to the db using phpMyAdmin and mysql-cli with the same credentials as what are in the wp-config file so I’m stumped.

    Can you tell me if what I’m trying to do is even possible using Duplicator Pro?
