The SEO Framework writes meta tags to your website’s <head> section. These tags can be generated automatically based on your site settings and content. One of these tags is the description meta tag, which is one of the first features of this plugin (hence, it holds the name “autodescription”). So yes, you downloaded the correct file.
The plugin doesn’t change any of your site’s written content. It limits almost all of its behavior to the meta tags. It also changes the page’s <title> tag and the preferred URL if you select a primary category or force a scheme (http/https).
