I have a basic question because — reading all the available documentation and product pages — it’s not entirely clear to me that Encyclopia Pro does what I think and hope it might do.

I installed the Lite plugin. I made one entry for the word “TextX”. I put that word in the linked page and hoped that it would create a link from the text “TextX” to the encyclopedia entry for “TextX”.

Is that what this plugin does?

Also, furthering my confusion, it didn’t do that.

    References:
Target WP Page holding TextX string: https://www.wecanfixclimatechange.com/pdf-demo/

    Encyclopedia page for TextX string:

    Thanks,
    Jason

  • If I understand you correctly… Once you create the entry in Encyclopedia, then you’d need to manually link it to your text in a post or page – it’s not automatic. If instead that functionality is what you’re seeking, then perhaps a “tool tip” plugin is what you need.

The plugin author can clarify, though.

    Dear @jvagner,

The Encyclopedia entries are linked automatically and you do not need to create the links manually. I guess the “issue” is that there is no “TextX” anywhere on your website (https://www.wecanfixclimatechange.com/?s=textx)!?

@mangoman Do you try to hijack this thread with misleading information and advertising another plugin? You opened another thread and I got never an answer there. ??

@dhoppe Thanks for providing more info. I saw the user’s website with unlinked text, so was sharing my perspective which isn’t misleading. No, I don’t represent nor promote another plugin.

My previous thread with you is 7 years ago and was concluded with my thanks to you for your reply.

    Thank you @dhoppe,

My bad. I misspelled my test string!! And we had multiple eyes on it but were too blind to see our error. Once I corrected that it worked immediately.

    So:

    • Thank you for your fast & helpful response!
    • Your plugin is amazing, something we’ve wanted but didn’t know existed. It looks very nice too.
    • Probably going to look at the related posts plugin, too.

    Cheers!
