Pre making my website

  • Hi guys, I am using iPage to host my website and they have an option to install wordpress to a test domain. So I’m wondering, I want to build a new site, would I be able to build it onto the test domain so that my old website stays up. And then move it to my actual domain all at once. iPage lets me manage the folders so I am thinking that I would just have to move the wordpress folders around. How do you think I should go about this?

  • Yes you can and in many different ways, by reading your post I am assuming you want your old site still up and running until you get everything settle down?

    It is good iPage gives you a test domain to instal wordpress, you can utilize that to build up your new content for your new site, once you feel its ready, simply use the URL POINTER to do the job, you can always open a ticket to tell them how you want to make the change but I highly recommend to do Online-Chat with them because half of the time they solve the ticket just because they want to get the job done, some time it causes a messy files structure
