The form has pre-filled the boxes with our charity name split over the first name and surname boxes and has put our email address in the email box. How can i get this to just have the words “First Name” “Last Name” and “Email address” pre-filling those boxes as they are in all the documentation. It looks silly pre-filled with our charity’s details.

    Hi there!

    I’m happy to clarify here:

That is being pulled from the credentials of the logged-in WordPress user at the time. Give tries to reduce friction on the donation form as much as possible during the donation process, so any information that can be pre-filled (like the name and email address of the logged-in user) is pre-filled.

To see what it will look like for other non-logged-in users, we recommend using an incognito browser.

??Let me know if that resolves things, or if you need further assistance. ?Thanks for using Give! Have a great day.

I am having a similar issue. I attempted the solution you recommended but it did not resolve the issue.

    Here’s what I did:
    1. I switched to a browser in which I was not logged in to the site.
    2. I switched to private browsing
    3. I loaded the page

    Here is what happened:
    1. When the page loaded it was populated with the user information of the site administrator who installed and configured the plugin.

You can probably recreate the issue yourself here. https://www.themaplist.org/how-to-donate/

If you cannot, I would be interested in knowing.

    Thanks!

    Hi @stacyvlasits ,

I just visited your page and I do NOT see the fields pre-populated at all. See here:

As Ben mentioned, this is most likely a browser caching issue and seems to be resolved already.

    Thanks!

Thanks for taking a look at it, Matt.

After I posted my request for help, but before you looked at it, I deleted the form from the page and re-added it using a shortcode. That fixed the problem. Sorry for not posting an update here and wasting your time. ??

Since I was not the person who originally created the page I can’t say for sure what had gone wrong, but when I look back at the revisions I see that the broken versions of the form were not being generated by a shortcode. Rather the html for the form (including static “value” attributes) had been hardcoded into the wysiwyg editor. Again, I don’t know how that happened, but deleting the hardcoded html and inserting a shortcode fixed it.

Thanks for the update and the details. I’ve seen that happen, I’m not sure who is recommending copy/pasting the HTML of the Give forms into the Text Editor, but it happens and it’s always problematic. Glad you got it sorted out.

If you’re enjoying Give and appreciate our support, we’d love a kind review from you here:
