    Hi

    I’ve been using PPWP for at least 3 years now. Until lately I had zero problem with the plug in.

    However in recent weeks I started to receive increased amount of complains from my clients that had trouble login to the protected section of the page.

    I went through your trouble shooting page and I do not see anything that would be change on my side that could trigger those problems.

    I checked logs and there are several fatal error messages linked to your application. Example below.

    Can you please investigate and suggest solution? I use WordPress.com so everything is updated automatically.

    2 days ago I added recommended snipped to php (add_filter( ‘ppw_check_md5_format’, ‘__return_false’ );. I though that maybe it started causing fatal error but the fatal errors appear also days before adding the snippet.

    PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function ppw_pro_allowed_regex_password() in /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/password-protect-page/includes/class-ppw-functions.php:511 Stack trace: #0 /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/password-protect-page/includes/class-ppw-api.php(546): ppw_free_valid_pcp_password(Array, ‘ takemewzor’) #1 /wordpress/core/6.7/wp-includes/rest-api/class-wp-rest-server.php(1292): PPW_API->ppwp_check_content_password(Object(WP_REST_Request)) #2 /wordpress/core/6.7/wp-includes/rest-api/class-wp-rest-server.php(1125): WP_REST_Server->respond_to_request(Object(WP_REST_Request), ‘/wppp/v1/check-…’, Array, NULL) #3 /wordpress/core/6.7/wp-includes/rest-api/class-wp-rest-server.php(439): WP_REST_Server->dispatch(Object(WP_REST_Request)) #4 /wordpress/core/6.7/wp-includes/rest-api.php(449): WP_REST_Server->serve_request(‘/wppp/v1/check-…’) #5 /wordpress/core/6.7/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(324): rest_api_loaded(Object(WP)) #6 /wordpress/core/6.7/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(348): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #7 /wordpress/core/6.7/wp-includes/plugin.php(565): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #8 /wordpress/core/6.7/wp-includes/class-wp.php(418): do_action_ref_array(‘parse_request’, Array) #9 /wordpress/core/6.7/wp-includes/class-wp.php(813): WP->parse_request(”) #10 /wordpress/core/6.7/wp-includes/functions.php(1336): WP->main(”) #11 /wordpress/core/6.7/wp-blog-header.php(16): wp() #12 /wordpress/core/6.7/index.php(17): require(‘/wordpress/core…’) #13 {main} thrown in /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/password-protect-page/includes/class-ppw-functions.php on line 511

    Hi @wmasztakowska ,

    Thank you for providing the information.

    Could you please let us know which version of PPWP you’re using? Are you using PPWP Lite or PPWP Pro? Have you updated the plugin to the latest version yet?

    Awaiting your reply.

    Hi, I’m using Lite version and plug in is up to date ( 1.9.5). , WordPress is also on the latest version 6.7.

    Website is built on Elementor.

    I will just add that the it seems that fatal error is returned when clients provide incorrect password. When I provide incorrect password the pages get stuck on loading.

    But at the same time many of my clients get notification that they cannot log in because of cookies. I advice them to clear cookies history in their browser and most of the time it solves the problem. Yet back in time I had maybe 1 such case every few months, nowadays its very few days and this frequency is troubling.

    Hi,

    I am a bit confused. I have received from you a file to updated plug-in to test but due to some other complications I am only about to test it. Have you already roll it out globally and the update is available for everyone ?

    In the plug in details I can only see that the last update was 3 week ago.

    Best, Weronika
