• I run a podcast but my website is used as a loss leader for people to find me rather than just relying on streaming platforms.

Additionally, there is more content available for streaming or download on my website than the streaming apps. Because of its ease of use – many subscribers use it as their default origin for engaging with my brand.

My past experience with AMP is that it didn’t support HTML5 players and it was a nightmare to get rid of and take out of Google search results.

My site is tight and performs extremely well on mobile already and before I give AMP another go – I just want to ensure that the HTML5 players are going to show up and be functional just as they are currently.

This is imperative that I do not lose any function or experience any menu degradation. If so – then please be honest with me and I won’t install it. Thanks!

we have not tested it personally. I tried setting it up but it’s a bit complicated and requires a podcast I believe.

We are really wanting to make it compatible with it. Our plugin should automatically convert the audio elements, but can you please try to install it on a test site and see what happens? so that we can analyze it and help you improve of what ever the situation is in front of us.

    I still have made a request https://github.com/ahmedkaludi/accelerated-mobile-pages/issues/3736

Thanks for the response. However, there’s not really a need. To be honest, AMP isn’t going to make my posts load any faster. It’s already designed for optimum mobile speed and Google understands to serve the correct version as opposed to desktop.

I am currently unable to set up a staging site with my account because it exceeds the amount of storage I have due to a very large site that I’ve been operating since 2007 and I’m not paying three times as much for my hosting. It’s not worth it.

Like I’ve said, I’ve done it twice before and it was a headache getting it all cleared out once I realized it wasn’t supported. According to AMP it is now but I just don’t have the time nor patience to deal with it.

I do appreciate your offer but I’m going to decline.

    Thanks again.

I do appreciate the clear response but we are going to still go with adding the support of PowerPress with proper tested compatibility. But like all good things, it might take some time.
