I installed Powerpress on created a podcast post. When I look at my site’s RSS feed, the test post and mp3 audio file appear normally. In fact, I subscribed to it through itunes and tested the playback. All is well

    However, this feed:

    https://www.livingdice.com/feeds/podcast

which is the podcast-specific feed does not have the mp3 episode listed at all. I checked and the enclosure field is populated. Am I missing something obvious?

    Thank you,

    vic

Ok, it just started working this morning. Must take it a while to update the feed.

If you’re using a caching plugin, the cache may have been “holding on” to an older version of the feed, and the cache reset at some point after you posted initially.

    Hello Vic,

Thanks for being a PowerPress user!

Just to follow up, you may have another theme or plugin modifying the SQL query for the podcast only feed.

Go to PowerPress settings > Feed tab, there is an option there to prevent other plugins and themes from modifying your feed. Check that option then click save. That may fix the issue you are having. If it does not, you need to spend some time diagnosing the problem by disabling plugins and testing a default theme. Details how to do this are available here: https://create.blubrry.com/resources/powerpress/using-powerpress/diagnosing-feed-andor-player-issues-with-powerpress/

It appears you are using CloudFlare, so every time you do the steps above, you have to clear the CloudFlare cache. Take your time, and if you can disable CloudFlare first. It is possible CloudFlare will cache the problem then cache the fix but it not correspond during your testing, leading you to misdiagnose.

Also some versions of CloudFlare block iTunes and other podcast apps (they block HEAD and byte range requests which are required for iTunes), please test your podcast once you get it working again to make sure CloudFlare is not blocking iTunes from accessing your feed.

    Thanks,
    Angelo
