• Hi Guys,

When i began my website, despite choosing static pages, the comments section was still coming up. As I didn’t want this function, i deleted the Comments.php section from my editor and solved the problem…and created a new one. I wanted to feature one posts page for jobs, however when i select it as a post page, literally nothing displays-it’s just a white screen. Unless its a conflict with a plugin, then comments.php is the only thing that I could have changed to affect it.

Does anybody have an idea of what I can do to have a blog page without adding the comments section back?

    Thanks
    Lauren

  • however when i select it as a post page

are you doing this under dashboard – settings – reading?

    what theme are you using?

have you tried to add the comments.php section back?

what happens if you temporarily switch to the default theme Twernty Twelve?

Unless its a conflict with a plugin

have you tried to temporarily deactivate all plugins?

Yes that Is how I am doing it. I’ve just realised that I lost the comments.php copy that I had when my computer crashed so have not put it back in yet! I’m using a custom theme so have emailed the supplier to ask for the deleted section, it just did not come with a function to turn off comments so expect that I will have to put it back and find some form of short code to disable the function.

It works fine with other themes and the plugin deactivation makes no difference so it must be the comments.php i’ve destroyed!
