Potential problems switching from sandbox to live site

Greetings!
I’m working on a WordPress site for a client and the web host has allowed me to build the site using an IP address and, once the site is done, they will re-direct to the client’s URL.

My question: will I encounter problems with the database when the switch occurs because it refers to the IP address and not the URL? In other words, will all my files/images no longer load in the new URL?

If so, how would I fix the database to refer to the new URL?
