Posts/pages/categories don’t open

  • I installed wordpress and almost immediately hit a dead end when my options-permalinks turned up blank.
    So, following instructions I found on this support forum, I change the wp_options -> permalink value to (postname) through phpMyAdmin.

    This changed the URLs to what I wanten, however, now the when I click anything(post, page, category) an error page shows up saying –

    Not Found

    The requested URL /it-never-going-to-work.html was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Can someone tell what the problem is? and how to resolve it.

  • At this very moment, I’m trying to solve the same problem (i.e. posts and pages are in the database, but they don’t show up on the site nor in “Pages > Pages” or “Posts > Posts”).

    The only change on my server is that mod_mono was installed on my server last night. I’m starting to get some hits on Google searching for mod_mono and mod_rewrite. I’ll post back if I find a solution.

    This post suggests using the passthrough|PT argument in your RewriteRule; however, this didn’t work in my case. Perhaps it will work in someone else’s?

    e.g. RewriteRule . /index.php [PT,L]
