• I have experienced this phenomenon on 3/n sites I look after – without user interaction (verified by parsing the logs for successful logins), pages are being moved to trash/bin. I am able to restore these pages, but in one instance the movement coincided with a permalink issue, which 404’d all non-default permalink URLs.

Plugins are fairly standard and uniform across the affected sites:

    Akismet
    All In One SEO Pack
    Better Search Replace
    Google Analytics
    Google XML Sitemaps
W3 Total Cache <– Disabled pending seperate paeg cache issue resolution.
    WooCommerce

Themes are varied: Enfold; Genesis etc.

Has anybody experienced such an issue?

    Cheers

  • I just experienced the same thing on the development server for one of my sites.

At first I thought it may have been an accidental deletion when I deleted some pages I didn’t need.

Today I noticed another page randomly appear in the trash.

From the plugins that you’ve mentioned, I’m not using any of the same plugins you have.

Also the theme is by MyThemeshop so another different theme.

My install is WordPress 4.2.2 like yours.

Just curious – which web host are you with? (shouldn’t think this would be an issue).

I have a bunch of other live sites, all using the latest WordPress version and using almost identical sets of plugins (one uses Tribe Theme, the other uses Genesis Framework with Education Pro) – they’re both fine.

Hopefully a few others have noticed this and we can find a solution.

I just noticed an issue today where all except one of my blog posts were in the bin.

Im using Yoast, Woocommerce & Membermouse and this is the only WordPress site I look after.

Did you guys manage to find anything else out?

I know this is an old post, but did anyone find a solution?

I have over 100 products on my site, and within the past 24 hours over 90 of them were randomly moved to the trash. This happened a few days ago as well, and I restored them all. Very strange behavior.

@beef_wellington:- In one instance, it was related to the deletion of an old admin account – the account, in question, was defaulted to after the original author’s account was removed.

I would check a log of recent account deletions and check to see if this corresponds with the authors of the posts.
