• Site: https://swbcdc.org
    Theme: WooThemes-The Station

All pages working properly from within the subfolder except for the home page. I can’t seem to remove the subfolder name from the URL for the homepage, and so the message is Sorry, this page doesn’t exist.

    I think I did everything right: WP files in subfolder;
    WP Address: swbcdc.org/newwebsite
    Site Address: swbcdc.org

in root directory and in subfolder, have:
    .htaccess
    they are identical.
They have rewrite base and rewrite rule the name of the subfolder.

    In root directory I have:
index.php file that contains newwebsite in the blog-header.php line. The same file in the subfolder does not.

In essence, I think I have the set up that was suggested in the WP Codex for this situation.

What else is missing? Appreciate the help, thanks!

    Rob

  • I just posted the same problem. My home page is black. ?? Help anybody!!!!

Have you tried flushing your rewrite rules by visiting Settings > Permalinks in your Dashboard? Re-saving them can’t hurt either.

Dashboard settings: I use date/title format that is offered as a checkbox option. I toggled them a little, and set them back where I wanted. No help.

Anyway, that can’t be the problem, I don’t think, because every other link updated correctly, except for home/index. There is something not right with index, I just don’t know what.

I was previously referring to your theme’s index.php file. Why don’t you try reverting to a bundled theme and see if you still have a problem. If it works, your theme is to blame.

Thanks Drew, I checked the theme’s index php file. I didn’t recognize anything in it! newby here
