Posts with Images don't publish.

    I use windows Live Writer to publish my blog entries – and this has been quite successful in the past.

    I recently updated to V4.1.1 from 3.4.2, and since then I can’t post any entries that contain an image. the error I receive is as follows:

    The post web address for the blog was not found:

    https://4x4geocachers.com.au/xmlrpc.php

    The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.

    Plain text only entries work flawlessly.

    All plugins are disabled.
    Theme is 2015

    Help in sorting this issue will be gratefully received.

    I’ve seen some other threads on this – evidently Live Writer is quite old and no longer being supported or developed by MS… so probably no way to make it work with the current version of WP.

    So what would you recommend as an alternative to Live Writer?

    Personally, I just use the WP Dashboard – I sometimes draft things offline in a plain text editor. Have you tried it lately? If you need more formatting help in the editor, try a plugin such as:

    WP dashboard is nice, but there are occasions (here in remote areas of Australia) when I just don’t have an internet connection available.
