• Hello
Have seen that you can set posts to appear at a future date and time, but wondering whether you can also set an expiry time in the future.
I know there are mass edit plugins which allow you to delete posts, but would be ideal to be able to, for example, set post to appear tomorrow at 3:00pm and disappear the next day at 1:00pm.
Any tips, clues or suggestions welcome on this, please.
    Many thanks.

  • What would be the use in that?

For most people, none whatsoever I imagine, but it would fit in with an idea I have in mind at the moment. Sorry to be cloak and dagger about it, but it would take some explaining and bore everyone, I am sure.
I have seen (I think) CMSs which allow this, although this is some time ago. I think e107 does or did and a Xoops module and I think Drupal used to as well.
However, if possible, I would like to use WordPress, even if it involves some fiddling around to achieve it, hence the ‘any ideas’ plea.
    Thanks and best wishes.

Seems there are a few options. In that search, I see at least one plugin along with some articles.

    Worth a look?

    Woops!
Sorry, must have been looking in all the wrong places.
Have to go out now but will check your links on return.
Many thanks for prompt reply and help.

On a somewhat related note: I set a entry to post in the future and when I go to check on it, it hasn’t posted.

The strange thing is even though it is after the time that it should have posted, it says that it will post in 14 minutes or 20 minutes. Several hours pass and when I go back, it says it’ll post in 23 hours!

Needless to say, the entry shows up as “scheduled to post” but that time never seems to come and the entry doesn’t show up on my blog.

I would really appreciate any help I could receive on this front.

    Thanks.

I would like to leave this one open at the moment, please, as it seems that the ones which looked promising are reported to go wonky if you use them too much and most seem to be pretty old.
    Any further ideas welcome.
    Many thanks.

I know several WordPress-users that needs this funktion. Is there anyone that are good programmer that can make a plugin for this?

I don’t think it’s nessesary that the phost is deleted, only unpublished. The WP-users I know have event-posts and when the event time have passed, the event should’nt be active anymore.

    i need this function too
i have blog page that have event announcements created like posts , and i need that posts to autoexpire at given date.

maybe im doing this wrong and there is beter way?

    *bump*
Standing in line too, to get an end-date to a post, purely for biographical reasons (been there from – to, etc.)

I’m looking for exactly the same thing. One post expiry tool, please. Thanks. And, yes, I’d like fries with that.
