Posts showing up in ascending order

Just a thought, but I stumbled across the “sticky” feature the other day. If you look to the right of the post editor screen, you’ll see

Status: Draft Edit
Visibility: Public Edit

Click the “Edit” button next to visibility and you’ll see a checkbox “Stick this post to the front page”.

Does your “Welcome consultants” post have this checked? If it is, it would account for this behaviour: “sticky” posts are displayed before other posts.

I thought I might have and was going to have to confess to being a dummy but alas, no check in the box.

Welp I dunno how but I figured it out.
