I have a very strange issue going, posts and site updates are randomly disappearing, but not on all computers or smartphones or such. Also I checked the DB and all the posts are there and there is no DB errors so I’m not sure how exactly this is occurring. It’s totally random as far as i can tell and it’s only with recently made updates. I don’t know if anyone else has run across a similar issues and has found a solution for this. Please Advise, thanks.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Why are you using an old copy of WordPress? Were you aware that your site is currently running a very real risk of being hacked? You need to upgrade WordPress asap.

I’ll try deactivating all plugins. I’ll update how that goes. And yeah I don’t always stay on top of updating I’ve been meaning to do it, this would probably be a good time to get on it.

With all plugins deactivated still same issue, I will attempt over FTP to reset the plugins folder to default see if that clears it up

Okay so I updated to 3.8.2 and at first check it seems the error is not coming up now, going to continue to monitor given this error was random and intermittent.

Alright it seems to be happening less frequently since I updated but it is still happening. Not sure what is going on here.

This happened with me for an entire category! I just posted in the forum on this, but have not gotten any feedback yet. Can you find the posts in admin? I can see my posts in admin, but if I filter my posts according to the “missing” category, then I can’t see them anymore. It says no post found. https://www.OaklandCountyMoms.com

Okay so from what I can tell it’s loading an entire older version of my site when this happens, as it displays as the 3.6.1 version I had before and any changes I make when it’s messed up don’t write to the DB but when it does show up normal I can make changes and they propagate to the DB as normal. I removed all cache extensions off of the site still having this issue though it’s very strange and frustrating I can’t seem to isolate this issue.

Anyone out there have any thoughts?

When I FTP to my site, I see all the files are modified from yesterday when I ran the update to version 3.8.1 and as I said the DB shows future posts made. So not sure what could cause an old version of the site to load.

Okay this was just an oversight on my part, we recently moved our site to a new server and our inhouse DNS server I added the new server’s IP Address to our DNS but I forgot to delete the old DNS record, so we had two record sets resolving to two seperate servers so sometimes it was going to our older web server, lucky this was only for our inhouse DNS so the world outside our network was getting to our newer site and only a few posts were put onto the older site.

    So problem solved
