Hi. New user, enjoying the theme.

I have a problem with the posts page. When I edit my posts page (Live Lean) to add text and other info like contributors, the wp edit page shows this correctly, but when I preview this in the browser the add text and contributor information doesn’t display.

Also, there’s a weird redirect to a misaligned version of the homepage.

Hard to explain, but easy to see on the video: https://youtu.be/JRxbnUpL0ec

It’s like the published page and the wordpress editor are unlinked somehow. I have cleared browser cache and wp cache and tried on different browsers with the same result.

Any pointers would be much appreciated, thanks.

  • Hi @bentf1981,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I am happy to help out.

Direct inspection is required to find out the root of the problem.

Can you provide a link to the exported XML file of your posts I can download and import it to my test site?

Nope, nothing yet. Any update @kharisblank ?

    Hi @bentf1981,

I am sorry for the delay in response.

@megan1234 thank you for chiming in.

As checked further with your site’s data, seems likely you were attempting to show additional content/element to the page that has been set as posts page (under Settings > Reading panel).

That page will only show list of posts and its page URL belongs to the site’s blog address. Currently the WordPress system works like so for the posts page.

The solution for your specific case as described, you’ll need to create a separate page with posts block added in it along with extra blocks used to show additional information. Then link it to your main menu via custom menus administration panel under Appearance > Menus.

    Hope this reply helps.

I originally tried doing that, but it’s a pain because none of the formatting is as nice in the ‘recent blog posts’ block. Is there any way to duplicate the existing posts page so I don’t have to build it from scratch?

    Hi @bentf1981,

    Thank you for getting back.

Please check this plugin as an alternative solution for your case.

    Hope that helps.

    Regards,
    Kharis
