“Posts Page” breaks the website in the reading settings

I am trying to make a Blog page (that I′ve already created) to be a posts page in the reading settings. When I do that, the whole page defaults to the basic theme posts page. How can I override it with the page that I have created? When i click “edit the page”, all the elements are kept in the frontend, but they are not visible on the website itself behind theme blog page.
