• Hi,

Is there a way to write posts that only authorized users, i.e. logged in users, can see? I know there is a way to force everyone who comes to the site to authorize themselves but I prefer to have a mix of public posts and posts only for authorized users.

I have seen posts in the past asking about this so I am assuming there is no solution for this. I hope though there is. ??

    Thanks,
    Frank

Unfortunately that plugin does not seem to work well w/ WordPress 2.3.x because the idea of user levels is gone.

I’ll assume your knowledge of the plugin’s limitations in 2.3.x is based on actually testing it out, but user levels gone? They’ve been downgraded in place of roles and capabilities, but they’re most certainly still there.

I admit I am a newbie to WordPress and could be doing everything.

Saying that in my testing of the plugin I found that when I set the post level to 1, the post was not showing up for the registered user, even when I set his role at administrator. I then noticed the user levels tab which is only there if the plugin is enabled. I also noticed that no user levels were set. I realized I could set the level manually for every user that registers but that would be far too manual and kind of defeat the whole purpose.

    Any suggestions?

When it comes to user levels you should not need to be handling anything manually. I’ll have to take a closer look at the plugin to see what may be up.
