    Hi,

I am using Twenty Ten theme. I am not sure what I have done as this is my first blog (only done static sites before). I want the blog posts to show on the home page of the blog and to then have an authors page (static) plus a link to our main site off the nav bar at the top.

I have made the authors page and linked our main site and contact page all of which are working fine off the primary menu. But my home page doesn’t show and the posts can only be found under categories which I have in a widget on the side.

I know this sounds dumb but I am rather confused as I thought posts would be automatically added above the welcome world post that I editted so it was from us and that home page would be under pages so I could add it to my nav bar. But I can’t find the home page that this is on. (DUH!!!)

I am sure this is very simple and I be really grateful to anyone that can help this idiot blogger!

    Thanks.

    Sophie

  • Have you perhaps set the site to use a static front page?

    Sophie,

What is the url of your site? Have you published the new posts? Pages won’t show up above the Hello World post. To add a link to the home page in the nav use the custom links on the left and just set the url to your blog url.

Unless you do what esmi asked you will not have a page within your wordpress admin that represents your homepage.

also make sure that if you created a menu that you set it to the correct menu in the top left using the drop down box.

Yes, Esmi I had! Then I added the custom link as you said aphill70 and it was all sorted!

Thank you both so much for you help and the speed of your response.
