Posts not showing on blog

  • Hello,

    My published posts are not feeding through to the blog section of my website – they are however showing on the first page when clicking the link to the website on Google as ‘last posts’. I saw there was another closed topic on the forum regarding the issue but I’ve tried the suggested solutions (deactivating plug ins, changing themes a few times) but haven’t been successful so far.

    The only solution I haven’t tried was to downgrade the php because I’m not too sure how to do that – is anyone familiar with the process? Would you suggest to do it?

    I’ve tried to contact the HeadThemes support (my theme is Head Blog) a few times but haven’t heard back from them.

    I’m wondering if the problem is with the permalink? I can’t change to mywebsite.com/blog/postnameorwhatever the only option I seem to have is mywebsite.com/date/titleofthepost

    Also, not sure if it’s relevant, but on my dashboard I have a big ‘Welcome to WordPress’ “Next steps: write your first post’- although I already wrote one..?

    Sorry for this long post but this is so frustrating!

    Also, tried to look into this with my website host and they couldn’t find what the issue is…

    It could be many things, but I would start by doing this:

    Go to Appearance>Customize then find the “Homepage Settings” option and click there. You will find the option for “Homepage” and “Posts Page”. Set the “Post Page” to “Blog” from the dropwdown.

    I have a feeling your issue has to do with either Menu setup, or categorizing, but you should try this first and let me know. Good luck!
