• I have recently moved to a new theme – Fashionista – for my blog – https://www.prashantmishra.net

All my posts have been categorized into distinct sets. What I essentially wanted to do was create some kind of navigation system which when a reader clicks on, she/he can then see all the posts within that category. So for example, “Insights” would show all posts that have been categorized as insights. However, no matter what I do, I haven’t been able to achieve this.

Firstly I tried to create menus but they didn’t show-up in the site. Then in another attempt I created pages with names of the categories which I want. Now at least they show-up, but when I click on them, ideally the posts should load. But they don’t.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this will be appreciated.

  • I’m making a trial with a freshly downloaded WordPress 4.3, and I’ve got the same problem (whatever the theme used): I’ve published some articles, each categorized.
If I try to sort a list of articles by category, using the menu for example, what I have is a page with the error message “Sorry, nothing found.”

I was using php 5.4 and MySQL v5.5 on the hosting ; just moved to php 5.6 but nothing changed. I’ll try to completely reinstall WordPress to see if there are changes, but I don’t know if this will be useful, I’m a kind of noob.

By the way, rashantpvm, visiting your website, it seems now that your problem is fixed, so what about you?
I would too appreciate suggestions. Thanks by advance.

(Still not working with a new clean install of WP)

Got it from another forum, and it works:

You have to change the permalink format for the pages addresses. It seems the Year/month/title default value doesn’t work ; changing it to Title value seems to give good results with the search by category.
