Please help me fix the theme. I have contacted GoDaddy support 3 times, and they won’t help. I keep getting told that they don’t support this theme. Someone gave me this link, to try here.

    Website: https://kennethrjones.com

The problem is that the theme will not display my posts correctly. It always displays a button to view the post. As an example, my last post, on my home page it says: “Lesson 1, Lesson 2, Lesson 3”.

That is completely useless to anyone, and it looks bad. It also can’t be good for SEO. I want the content of my posts displayed on the home page. So people can read everything without needing to click to other pages, and so Google can index my home page correctly.

I know that you can get this effect by using the “more” tag. I am NOT using the “more” tag in any of my posts, so I have no reason why it’s automatically adding one on the home page.

I just want the posts to display, like they would on any other theme that I’ve tried.

    Thanks for the help!

  • Hi @kj82,

It doesn’t look like you are using this theme any longer. If you’d like some support please feel free to swap back and we can work together on getting things working on your end.

    Best,

I had to get rid of it because I was trying for over a week to get it working, and GoDaddy wouldn’t help no matter how many times I called.

Ok I switched back. Can you tell me how to fix it? I don’t want those “Continue Reading…” buttons on the home page. I want the entire post, like it should be.

    Thanks.

Edit: One other thing I noticed, is that the horizontal scrollbars don’t work on pre tags, so when the browser is resized too small, the code wraps and gets scrambled, instead of the box scrolling horizontally.

    Hi @kj82,

I’m not able to access the site. I keep hitting a 500 error.

To answer your question, if you’re looking to include the entire post on the blog landing page, you’ll need to customize the template a bit. The way that the theme is constructed is on the blog landing pages only a short excerpt of the blog post is displayed. The continue reading button is automatically generated when the excerpt length is hit.

I want to confirm that the page you linked to is the blog landing page, which includes a running list of all of your blog posts before I provide any code or further instruction.

    Thanks!
    Evan

I’m not sure if that is the page you are talking about. I will contact GoDaddy support again and tell them the website still isn’t working.

GoDaddy support says there is nothing wrong with my website. It is working fine. That’s that answer they always give me. They said the 500 error must be on your end, and you should contact your ISP.

I understand your upset but personal insults, when all I’m trying to do is help, is unnecessary.

While Google may say “insufficient content”, the issue may lie elsewhere. If your site is relatively new, has a low number of views, or the content is not of top quality – you will be rejected, regardless of the actual length of the content on the homepage.

@kj82 I’ve removed your personal attack. I do get that you are upset but that behavior isn’t long tolerated in these forums.

Calm down, you were being helped by a volunteer working for you on his own time for free. There’s not justification for that attack and you’re not owed support by anyone here.
