Posts not appearing in Homepage

  • Am new to WP and struggling to get posts to appear on homepage. Have got them in the sidebar and to appear on News page. Need simple explanation please. Also would like to be able to click on post in homepage to take me to full details in another page. But one step at a time. Help please. Also the featured image doesn’t always appear. Have tried playing with static and latest post under settings.

    which theme is active on your website?
    which page have you selected to display posts in SETTINGS > READING area of WordPress dashboard?

    I wanted to show posts on Homepage and then have a link to Events page.

    As I said trying to learn this as a I go.

    Must learn to read. Theme is TwentyFourteen. The posts are shown in News.

    I am involved in another WP.org site which does what I want but I can’t find out why it is working on one and despite my best efforts not on mine. The other site is: https://www.puntclub.co.uk/

    is this the page that you want your posts to display on?

    is this static page “homepage” selected to display posts in SETTINGS > READING area of WordPress dashboard? (this will disable other things on the page unless you add some custom code)

    Homepage is set as static under headings. Custom code is well outside my knowledge. As I said I was trying to copy all the settings from the puntclub site but without success.

    I see “Featured content” not all posts displayed on home page of the site you are comparing to.
    The support team of twenty fourteen theme would be a better source of guidance
