Your use of a sidebar plugin is impressive.
There is no need for a plugin for a sidebar because WordPress has built-in capabilities for adding widgets, which speed up page loading.

By default, the Twenty-fourteen theme allows you to add widgets to the primary sidebar.
Simply go to Appearance > Widgets under Admin Dashboard.
All you need to do is add a “Latest Posts” widget to the “primary sidebar”.
