• We’ve installed and run this plugin to import our posts over from our Blogger account to WordPress.

Everything seems to be fine, except for the fact that on the blog page itself, the posts are not in the correct order (by date).

When viewing in the back-end, they are also in the wrong order.

The order of the posts are somewhat of the sort: 1st page, 2012, next page 2011, next page 2010, next 2013, next 2014.

-> How do we order the posts by date, newest to oldest?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi SixWeb,
can you confirm that the date on the posts themselves is correct? Note that draft posts don’t have a date, only published and scheduled.

The order in the backend is determined by clicking on the date column in the Post view.

In the front end the order of the posts is determined by your theme. Most themes would show the latest posts first and then old ones, however if you have a sophisticated theme then that may have other options.

    Hi Andy,

Thank you for your quick response.

As it turns out, when clicking on the Date tab in the backend, it doesn’t change the order whatsoever. Looks like some kind of bug.

Is there a way to bypass these settings and add a PHP snippet into the theme’s header/blog page to get the posts to be sorted by date (newest to oldest)?

I also have this issue but exported from an existing WordPress press install on another server. Then installed on the new server and now there’s no order to my posts on the blog page. However, they are ordered on the Category pages. Sixwebsolutions, were you able to find a solution to the blog page issue?
