Hi, we have Future set up so that in the “Choose which user roles can use PublishPress Future,” only admins are selected. We also have a default 30-day expiration set for all posts. This is so that all posts expire in 30 days and that cannot be altered by anyone other than an admin. What appears to be happening is that any post created/published by an author or editor is assigned an expiration date, but appears in the Expire column in the Posts admin as “Cron event not scheduled” and does not get moved to Trash. However, if an admin user simple opens and re-saves them, they are then scheduled to expire as intended.I am guessing that is how it’s intended to work, but also hoping there is some way to configure Future such that posts will be set to expire based on the default settings, even if the author of the post is NOT an admin. Thank you for reading this far ??

    Hi @altimac

    Thanks for using PublishPress Future.

No, this is not expected behavior. It should working even the author is not admin.

I just tested this using the latest version and it works as expected. Could you inform me what PublishPress Future version you are using?

    Thanks,

Hi and thanks for the quick response. We are definitely on the latest version (3.0.4). I had actually requested this feature over a year ago and kept hoping it would be added at some point, but as of today, the only post type we have for which we have PPF active and auto-enabled is Posts, and it’s set to “Change status to Trash” after 30 days of being published. The only user who has permission is Administrator, and our intention is that all posts expire after thirty days, and that no author or editor can change that. But the only posts that get their status changed to “Trash” are those that are initiated or edited by an admin-level user. The rest are not affected by PPF in any way.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. If you have any further questions, please reply again here, or you can start a new thread.

    Thanks,
