I have a friend that went from wordpress.com to a self hosted www.remarpro.com website.

She made the change fairly recent (a week or so), and is still a novice in all wordpress related stuff. She asked for my help with this issue:

She has had a static page as her home page forever, but since the move we started talking about how “less is more” and so on, and decided that a homepage with excerpts on it would look better for the users. So last night, she switched from static page to latest posts with excerpts.

And she noticed that her home page only shows posts up to 7th May.At all. Also, they don’t appear in her “latest posts” widget on the side of her blog.

This is the blog address: https://www.insulaekklesia.ro/.

I have switched the blog to a default theme (Twenty Eleven) and turned ALL plugins OFF, thinking it can be some weird interference. It didn’t help.

I have seen various posts around the forum, but they applied to posts not showing up because they were supposed to go to a different page than home. This is not the case here.

    So, please help?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Right now that site shows Adventure Journal with many plugins? You probably need to switch to twentyeleven or twentytwelve and turn everything off.

    Not plugins, widgets.

I did try turning everything off. It did not work. So I turned them back on.

In my defence: it’s a HUUUGE site, not mine and with 1500+ posts.

Allright. So…I am quite embarrassed but here I go:

There was no problem after all:

I managed to troubleshoot pretty much all I could think of: wordpress install (I installed wordpress again), I checked posts status, theme options, uninstalled the theme & all plugins, and after one night of not sleeping I found the issue.
There were 7-6 sticky posts, that were showing up in the list, and it SEEMED like there was something wrong, but it wasn’t. All good now. Maybe someone will learn something from my silly mistake and sleepless night.
