Having a very weird issue. I know there’s a whole bunch of posts on this website I’m working on, but they seem to have disappeared from the website, as well as from the backend Posts page. But i can see them in the database.

I had removed a bunch of plugins and changed the theme and then I noticed this happened. I went to a backup i have, only a few days old, and its doing the same thing. They are in the database but not anywhere on WordPress.

Anyone heard of this issue before? Im wondering if theres a way to “refresh” the posts in WP from the DB? Or something like that.

  • Have you tried repairing all database tables?

I did that a couple times with WP-DBManager.

Is there a way to hide or store posts some other way. I just found out the original person who put theses post on here may have done it with some sort of plugin? So strange that the data is there but not view-able.

Is it possible for someone to use “custom post types” to input blog posts, that for some reason I can’t see now andwhere in the backend or on the front of the site? I don’t really know what “custom post types” are but im researching them right now – because it looks like its possible these blog posts are somehow a “custom post types”

I got it figured, someone created a custom post type for recipes and they were not shown anywhere because the plugin that they were using was uninstalled. (Toolset Types) I reinstalled it, and converted them all over to blog posts. (with Convert Post Types) All good now.
