    If you upgrade to 1.27 and the posts in the widget aren’t displayed anymore, please follow these steps:

    1) Verify that in the fields “Get posts with these categories” and “Get posts with these tags” there is not any NULL value. If you see this value, simply erase it and save the widget.

    2) Also, if you have not selected any author in the field “Get posts by this author”, simply select “Any” in the dropdown widget and save the widget. If it does not work, select your name, and save the widget. Then select “Any” and save the widget again.

    3) If you use the cache, enter 0 (a zero) in the field “The cache will be used for (in seconds)” and save the widget.

    These three steps should cover any case. If you need help, do not hesitate to contact me via forum. Usually I reply during the day (if not before).

  • Hello, firstly – thank you for this widget, it’s helped my website a lot in the past two years. I have to say that this is the first time I’ve had an issue with Posts in Sidebar.

    The posts aren’t displayed anymore. I’ve followed the steps you’ve given and the widget still doesn’t pull any posts. I’ve checked if any of the plugins I installed lately are in conflict, but still – nothing.

    Do we need to specify category slugs, or is it optional? Could using IDs instead of slugs (like in the ‘Exclude posts from these categories’ option) be required?

    I’d appreciate any help.

    Hi @dustrak,
    could you send me a screenshot of the widget settings? It could help me a lot. If you can, please send it to aldolat on Gmail email address. In case you can’t, I’ll see if I have to revert some part of the code to the previous version.

    I’m very sorry for the issues that some of you users are encountering.

    Let me know, please.

    Alright, I’ve sent you the screenshots, hopefully it helps figure out what’s wrong. Thank you for the active support!

    I was having these same problems, went through the steps above and they still didn’t fix it.
    So I went in to my backups and grabbed the previous version of the plugin and installed that and that fixed it. Once aldolat has had a chance to sort out the issue I’ll try the upgrade again.

    Thanks for your active support aldolat!

    Have same problem, and i also found a backup and got it running again.

    Which version is OK for you?

    @aldolat, I think version 1.24 worked for me.

    Hi, Thank you so much for this widget. I am using it a lot on my different sites. Unfortunately I am experiencing the same problem, it will not work despite the steps above. In addition to the information already provided does my post in sidebar work on all my pages except on the start page, “no posts yet”. I can see the posts on the start page when I am logged in but when I log out it disappears again.

    Any ideas?

    I just pushed the 1.28 release. Update the plugin and save every instance of the widget (do not forget to do this). Then check if the issue is resolved.

    Let me know.

    @viktorno only:
    Check this post. In particular, @pboleo was using the plugin “WP Hide Post” that was causing that issue. Do you have this plugin installed?

    Hi again, @aldolat. I updated to 1.28 and saved my one instance of the widget, cleared the cache and everything, but the posts are still not showing up.

    Could you push an older version somewhere? I regrettably don’t have the right backups, and at least for some users the older version is working.

    Thank you for all the help.

    @dustrak
    While using 1.28, create a temporary new instance of the widget without changing anything and tell me if you see your latest posts in the new widget.

    Also tell me the URL of your site and the version of WordPress you’re using.
