• I just want my POSTS listed by Title not date on the front page.
I’ve read a lot of previous posts about hacks and plugins to list categories by name but that’s not what I’m looking for here.
This is just the set up for the front page of the blog where when I enter a post it has the title across the top not the date to sort by.
I don’t know what to change or where to put it. thanks

  • do you mean you want them sorted alphabetically?

I don’t care really if they are sorted alphabetically, just that I don’t want them listed by date. I just installed the blog and a WP theme and posted and in big letters across the top is the DATE. I want the TITLE to be there. I’m studying the Dissection of a Theme to see if this is simply a change in CSS or the theme I’m using. I was hoping there was an option from admin to opt to list them by titles but I bet not. I’m trying to create a newspaper online, so there will be tons of stories, don’t want a whole long page that lists “MAY 21, 2005” over and over again.

Well, you should study a bit how WP works, if you are that new. It depends on the theme what and how is displayed on your site. By tweaking the index.php template AND the stylesheet together you can achieve what you want.
Basically what you want is not “posts by title” as you stated here, but to have first the title of a post in a more prominent way (e.g. styled like your dates now) and the date in a different place. Especially for a newspaper it is better to have posts displayed by date, i.e. the newest on the top – believe me, I used to be a journalist in my previous life ??
