• Hello,

We are facing following problem. We have user groups with write permissions and user groups with read only permissions.

    Example:
Chikago 4 – write permissions (Read access – only group users, Write access – only group users)
Chikago 4 RO – read only permissions (Read access – only group users, Write access – only group users, Subscriber role checked)

Chikago 5 – write permissions (Read access – only group users, Write access – only group users)
Chikago 5 RO – read only permissions (Read access – only group users, Write access – only group users, Subscriber role checked)

Next i have 2 categories Chikago 4 and Chikago 5. To Chikago 4 category i give pernissions to Chikago 4 and Chikago 4 RO user groups. I do same for Chikago 5 category giving permissions to Chikago 5 user groups.

Now me as admin go to Posts and create a new post and assign this post to both Chikago 4 and Chikago 5 categories. When i login with non admin user which is part of any of these 4 user groups I don’t see the post.

If i select only one of those categories in post, then post is visible to the other users that have access to the user groups permitted to see the category posts.

Question is why when for a single post are selected 2+ categories post is not visible to any of the users?

How can i solve it, is there is a fix as for me this is a bug?

    Thank you in advance!

  • Hi,

I use the UAM plugin a bit differently but are facing the exact same problem.

I run a family site where family members have their own blogs added with some shared blogs.

    Example:
Jane have a personal blog to share with her friends. Other family members have the same.
On top we have a few shared blogs for i.e. Summer Vacation.
Blogs are shows on the wp site using split on categories

Now when Jane adds a post and categories this post for both her personal blog and for the Summer Vacation blog, the post is only visible for users that have access to both categories where the post is posted.

As the purpose is to give different people access to different blogs this doesn’t really work for us. Is it possible to change somewhere if the restriction should be an AND or an OR?

    Thanks in advance
