posts are duplicating

  • Hello. I’m having an issue and have spent hours trying to figure it out.
    My posts are all on my home page. https://workwithsusanna.com

    When I click on a post on the home page, the title of the post is not duplicated on that page. However, the posts ARE duplicated:
    https://workwithsusanna.com/help-my-mlm-sponsor-quit/

    I’ve scoured this forum and the internet but cannot figure out why. It does this in other themes as well. I have did deactivate some of the most recently downloaded plugins but the repeat posts are still there.

  • that is normal behavior
    clicking on the title on the front page takes you to the single post view
    all themes work this way

    In the single post view all the text does repeat twice – if you click on a post then page way down you will see that all the text is repeated again, less the title –

    Not a normal single post view – should only have the main text once.

    missed that
    has to be a plugin borking it – likely one of the share plugins
    deactivate all plugins then activate one by one until finding offender

    I am having the same problem. When I past text into the Post editor the body of the post is duplicated.

    are you using a plain text editor like notepad in the html editor?

    I am pasting text from Notepad into the visual editor

    I think I have got to the bottom of this. In answer to another question about pasting stuff in in general Saildude said:

    “Pasting is not an issue IF you use one of the two boxes to paste text into – 2nd row of the menu just above the text – picture of a small clipboard – one has “T” for Text – turns anything into plain text (strips out formatting) and “W” pasting from MS Word – supposed to save MS Word formatting – I don’t use MS Word so never used the “W.”

    Pasting directly into WordPress from a word processioning program can give other than intended results “

    First thing is that to see the second row of the menu I had to click on the show kitchen sink icon in the first row.

    The you can then choose to paste in as Word or plain text. No duplication occurred.

    To recreate duplication I pasted in directly from Notpad ie ignoring the 2T” and “W” options. What happens when you look at what you have pasted in via the html tab the you have 2 copies – one with the html code and one without

    Hello there! Thanks for your replies. I’m not cutting and pasting from anywhere. I am typing the post directly into word press. Sometimes, my post is just a video and it is also duplicated.

    I turned off most of the plugins. And it was still there…I’m at a loss. I have the guy who originally put my blog together looking at it. If he solves it I’ll try to find out what caused it. Also I had a contact form on another page stop working. So, I have some issue.
