• Greetings. First off I apologize if this is posted in the wrong place.

Basically I want your thoughts on how to run my site before I get too far into it.

I want to create what is effectively a static site with a blog roll on the front page. The way I’ve been doing it is I create a static page, for example a review, then I create a post on the front page letting users know that a new review page has been added. The post has a small except from the page and links to the page.

Seems like a lot of work to make a page then make a post about the page then do the seo on both.

Is this the best way to do this?

    Thoughts.

Yes, my home page has the blog.

Sorry, I probably wasn’t clear so I’ll put it another way. hypothetically lets say my site is about tutorials and the tutorials fall into three distinct categories. Over time I write a dozen or so tutorials for each category.

The way I see it a I have three options for managing my content.

    1. I every lesson is a post
    2. Every lesson is a page on a submenu, the parent menu is the lesson category
    3. the same as 2 but I also make a news type post about the lesson on the blog page (this is what I’ve been doing)

I guess its whole pages verses post story. I getting myself confused. Part of me thinks all the lessons should just be posts but another part of me thinks they should be in a more traditional hierarchical menu structure.
