I have articles that I have written that I want to be released at a certain time/date. I dont want to have to manually post them then, I want WordPress to do it for me. How do I do this? Thanks/

  • Hmm… I don’t know of any plugin that would do so, but it is an intriquing idea!

Basically you want to shift a post from “draft” to “published”, automatically, at a given time. I take it so you can “load up future columns” and then go on holiday, or something similar? ??

If there isn’t a plugin for this, then I think its an interesting and useful enough of a problem that you’ll have inspired someone to start coding ??

    Hmm…

What I’ve done (and it works) is to set the date for the post in the future. The date box (on earlier versions of WP, at least) is on the post-writing page — advanced editing, I believe.

Just write your post, set it for the date and time you wish, and publish it. It will not appear on the blog immediately, but should automatically display when the date/time you chose arrives.

    Yep – that works.

And here I was off experimenting with date comparison functions and a big If-statement around the interior of “The Loop” :p

Guess it shows you should try tinkering with what is there first.
