Post/Page editor stuck in text mode

  • My Post and Page editor is stuck in text mode. I do not have any ability to switch it to visual mode. There are no icons either in this mode accept for the new media icon. This “no icon” effect is even being displayed on the quick post window on the dashboard. I have this occurring on multiple wp sites that use different themes and plug ins. I have deactivated my plug ins by changing the directory name through ftp with no luck. I have changed back to the default theme w/ no plug ins – no luck. I have reloaded the wordpress 3.5 and no luck. This is not unique to the browser being used since it happens in firefox, ie, and safari.
