• Dear Postman,

The plugin looks great, but I can’t get it to send out via SMTP. I’m getting a message at the top that says: Postman is properly configured, but another plugin has taken over the mail service. Deactivate the other plugin.
I’ve tried deactivating several plugins without the message going away.

  • Same here, I deactivated almost all of my plugins to see if I could figure out which one it was.

There are three ways that this message can occur, AFAIK:

    1. Plugins that implement wp_mail
    2. Themes that take over mail… see this thread
    3. Your host can install an MU plugin to disable mail.. see this thread

If you’ve deactivated every plugin and still get the message, try switching to the default theme (TwentyFifteen), and if that doesn’t work look for a hidden plugin in wp-content/mu-plugins.

Did you find the problem, @dandpdev? What was it.

Hi Postman, I have not yet. I looked into if the theme could be causing it, and haven’t found the answer yet. The host has not installed MU-plugins, that I am sure of. I am waiting to test the Postman SMTP plugin on a few different sites I am working with, to maybe catch a variable in the equation.
But I really appreciate your follow up! Awesome support! Thanks.
