• Don’t know what was done between 2.8.6 and 2.9, but so far, 2.9 has been a headache when it comes to posting anything. I have posts scheduled to go up daily which aren’t being posted. When I write a new post and hit publish, all it does it act like it’s publishing and never refreshes the page. I just tried to add a new post to my site, and it took almost 10 minutes just to publish it.

  • I’m still experiencing this problem, but don’t have the YARPP plug-in installed. Did anything else work? SO frustrating to not be able to post. Only seems to happen when a post is long. If it’s a short post, it’s fine… long post = spinning wheel of death.

    Thanks for the help!

Have you all tried posting from a different PC?
I can’t post from one only. Same house

Hey Shaman, thanks for the response. Had a buddy try it out and had the same problem. Asking the host for an error log, but they’re a bit on the slow side.

We did recently upgrade to 2.9, so I’m thinking it had to do with that. All plug-in’s have been updated to the most recent version. And I’ve tried deactivating them with no luck.

    So weird.

Same problem here. Even more php defunct issues after a mod_deflate installation in Apache 2.2. Now the server has spikes whenever I try to publish a new post and if I let the process end, the server goes back to usual load. Has anyone found a solution? Is it WordPress not working ok or is it something to do with Apache/PHP/APC etc. on the server?
    Tx.
