• This problem only occurs with the Postie plugin, not any other plugin or WP’s system. I’m using Posting 1.4.5 on WP 3.4.2. Whenever I enter the mailserver settings and click “Save,” I get sent to my site’s 404 error page. Clicking back on the browser, refreshing, etc. gets me back to the settings, but nothing was saved in the mailserver info. When I try to re-enter it and save it, it’s 404 once more.

Is this a problem with 1.4.5?

Not sure if this is relevant, but I noticed that the URL for the settings page is:

    domain.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=postie/postie.php

After clicking save, it tries to go to:

    domain.com/wp-admin/options.php

Should it try to redirect to options.php or options-general.php?

Just to test it, I downgraded to Postie 1.4.3, and there were no problems with saving the mailserver info. Thus, it appears to be a problem with 1.4.5.

    Anyone else discovered similar issues?

I have found exactly the same. I can save the settings in Postie 1.4.3 but not in 1.4.5 and then I upgraded the plugin to 1.4.5 and the settings are still there – bit of a workaround but it works now – and I have the security update.
