    Hi,

So Postie seems to be exhibiting a new behavior that I didn’t previously notice (so unfortunately I can’t say for sure when this started happening).

Last week, on 2/1 and then again on 2/6 I sent two emails through the listserv in which the email that is linked to Postie is a subscriber. The subjects were different and I confirmed that the emails were both sent and both received. However for whatever reason Postie only imported the first email and not the second.

    Why would this be?

Does Postie read the email if you click the “Run Postie” button?

I’ll have to check that out. It is a little complicated though because I cannot just send a test message to the listserv(s). I’d have to fake it by sending a direct email to the email address associated with Postie. This might not produce the same results.

If it is a public listserv feel free to subscribe the postie-test@devzing.com so I can see exactly what is coming through.

    Wayne,

I had two go out yesterday and this time they both posted. Not sure what happened, perhaps it was a glitch somewhere else. I’ll keep you posted if I see this happen again.

    Thanks for being so attentive.

Remember that some page on your site needs to be loaded in order for WordPress to give the cron a chance to work. If you have a low traffic site you might want to consider https://postieplugin.com/forcing-an-email-check/

sorry to but in here but I am doing the set cron job site as I really don’t want to mess with that. lol! anyways do I set it to access any page on my site or the get_mail.php where ever that is. Thanks and be blessed.

never mind. feeling like an idiot now. but for those that want to know it’s the get_mail.php in the postie plugin folder, at least tha’ts the way I set mine up. I just tested and it is working good. Now I don’t have to worry about when I’m out in the field and saving my posts as drafts.

    Tc all.

Just to be extra clear use:

    Wayne,

Just so you know, I have the get_mail function running on the server side. I think it’s polling every 10 minutes.

Let me know if this solves the issue.

    Wayne,

No, I mean that I have had (always was) running get_mail from the server. In fact Postie originally wouldn’t work from the in-program get_mail setting, which is why I went server-side in the first place.

So, the issue I was having that started this post was something else entirely. I’m wondering if it wasn’t just some weird hiccup somewhere, perhaps even with the email client as opposed to WordPress or Postie. I suppose though I’ll not know until I see it happen again. I’ll keep you posted but for now the problem has corrected itself.
