Postie Image thumbnails only (that link to the images correctly)

    When I send out an email with picture attachments to Postie, there are two issues I need some help with please.

    In Brief..
    1. Images uploaded from the email are set to create a gallery (with thumbnails) – but when I click the thumbs in the uploaded post ‘they are not linking to the image file, but to the image attachment page instead. This breaks it. How do I fix this please?

    2. Also, as I prefer only the image thumbs (slideshow), but do not want the images to be duplicated in the uploaded page as larger images below the thumbnail gallery. So how do I set this up?

    Thanks for the video it helped a lot in understanding what is happening.

    To fix #2 change the “Prefered Text Type” to “Plain”

    To fix #1 I need more info. You obviously have some kind of gallery plugin installed. Which one?

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    The Gallery I’m using is the one that comes with Alora.
    Here’s another movie, as I go through my installed plugins and show the display options for the gallery page.

    NOTE: It one point a couple of days ago, I thought I had added a plugin that provides additional gallery display options; but as I am looking through the plugins ‘I don’t see any indication of same. So, perhaps I am mistaken.

    Perhaps you’ll see something that I missed here.

    Oh, and BTW – in case you need it, I have created an Admin user for you.

    Ahhhh… ??

    I just figured out why there’s several extra display options for the galleries!
    I thought the list of options was longer than the ones that come with Alora – but couldn’t remember why.

    I have Jetpack installed – and I enabled Jetpack’s “Tiled Galleries” option.
    This is how I was hoping to display any galleries created by Postie; but (as shown in my last little movie) the images are not linking up as part of a group-images slideshow, or linking directly to the image in the light box ‘but instead to the Attachment Page.

    I’m guessing what you are wanting is a gallery tag that looks like [gallery link="file"] rather than the default [gallery]

    Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a way to query WordPress for all the currently supported link types.

    However, in the next version of Postie you can choose the link type for galleries.
