Post WP 4.0 upgrade blues – Custom Community

I just upgraded WP 3.5.1 to WP 4.0 and subsequently migrated the site from a ‘dev’ folder to the root folder of the same server. I am using Themekraft’s Custom Community theme with a child theme. The result has been that I now no longer have any of my modifed CSS in the Custom Community Theme settings. The modified CSS in the Child Theme is intact.
The slideshow (an integrated component of Custom Community) has stopped cycling through the images – or at best cycles through in a haphazard fashion taking no notice of the milliseconds setting in the configuration.
In time I will be able to rebuild the CSS, but I am at a loss as to how to restore the proper timings to the slideshow and any guidance will be much appreciated.

I guess I should add that I have tried de-activating all the plug-ins without solving the problem.
